Wow, I am so glad I waited for the iPad2 to come out instead of getting the first version. The iPad2 is going to be so much easier to carry around with me than my laptop or even the original iPad. The best thing about it is that I’ll be able to watch my employee subscription to DISH Network anywhere I have internet access on my iPad2!! I’ll be able to watch movies, shows, or recordings while waiting for class, on the bus, or in line at the bookstore.

Here comes the sensational news in the industry!!  Two giants decided to take on Apple and Google together.

Microsoft’s journey into the Mobile OS segment was way back, on 19th April 2000. As of now Windows OS share is a mere ~2% of the overall market. This is the impact they have made in the smart phone industry so far.

Where as Nokia, the global leader in the mobile phone segment was troubled by the introduction of Android OS from Google. The competitors are using Android OS for their smart phones extensively. With the inbuilt Symbian OS Nokia looked to be in the tribal age. Gradually the Smart phones kicked them off the ground.  The tie up says it all.

MacBook Air – Slimmest Notebook From Apple

Apple, the innovative tech leader, unveiled new MacBook named MacBook Air. It’s the thinnest notebook I have ever seen. MacBook Air is available in two sizes, 11″ and 13″.  The 11″ MacBook weighs 1.06 kg(2.3 pounds) and the 13″ MacBook weighs 1.32 kg (2.9 pounds). Height of the this MacBook Air is just 0.68″ (1.7 cms) when it is closed.

MacBook Air is using Flash Storage which helps Apple to make it thin and faster. As Apple says Flash Storage is two times faster than the conventional hard disk drive. Flash Storage does not have any moving parts, so it’s more reliable and quite.

The iPad has a significantly faster CPU, and also a dedicated GPU.

That said, in my opinion it’s a pretty useless product. I prefer notebooks.
